Comickers Cover Girl
re-creation

Inspired from this single image...
An original illustration by Masamune Shirow, only featured in Comickers Magazine (September 1995).

The challenge of this character, was to design her costume "at rest".
A practical approach to something completely fanciful and disproportionate in the real world.

After studying specific elements of the jacket, it was determined to be asymmetrical in design.
The arms and ornamental front closure are obviously different, allowing for artistic freedom.

Her unusual accessories: tactical belt, futuristic headset and gem cuffed gloves.

There is a great deal of surface detail on her jacket, including future-tek epaulets.
Some details were appliquéd, while others were hand-painted.

Her jacket is completely lined, with a double edging in white and yellow.
The ornamental front closure is made up of hand-painted, found objects.

An intricate design on the leotard, consisting of appliquéd strips of gold filigree fabric.
Includes a choker made from embossed leather.  The abdomen area is hand-painted, with
carefully arranged gold trim crescents.

Her tactical belt is concealed underneath the jacket.  The belt is made from embossed leather.
Includes a metal carrying case for ID and money.

Futuristic headset and boot cover.
The gem cuffed boot covers feature mysterious, shock absorber devices.

The whole ensemble.  A very sexy costume.

As modeled by Rosie.
